Chicago house veteran Roy Davis Jr has announced his new album is due out in April.
The follow-up to 2009’s God Life Music, Destroy And Rebuild is billed as a return to the “original sound of Chicago’s house music” and features vocalists Robert Owens, J. Noize and Terry Dexter.
As the ‘Gabrielle’ producer told RA, he’d wanted to work with Owens since the Fingers Inc album the singer did with Larry Heard and Ron Wilson: “He is one of the coolest cats to work with. That brother knows his craft!”
Destroy And Rebuild is out on Mile End Records on April 14, and he’ll play dates in London, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Nottingham throughout March and April.
Earlier this month Davis Jr picked his favourite record for FACT’s new feature series.
