Singer tapped for rap biopic.

Following the release of her fifth album Braveheart this week, R&B singer Ashanti has revealed that she’s working on the score for the much-delayed movie about Tupac’s life.

The music will be a collaboration with Braveheart producer L.T. Hutton, who is also steering the movie as CEO of Program Pictures.

“He and I are gonna be doing like a musical score, or a lot of music, for the Tupac film coming in 2015. So I’m super excited about that, I’ve known about this for like two [or] three years now. He’s very, very excited about it,” she told Complex.

Last month it was announced that Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton would be taking over the as-yet-untitled project. Shooting is slated to begin in June, although an actor has yet to be cast in the rapper’s role.
