R.I.P. 19-year-old hip-hop artist Speaker Knockerz

The rising talent was just 19 years old.

Sad news: rapper/producer Speaker Knockerz (born Derek McAllister) was found dead in his Columbia, SC home late last week. An autopsy revealed no sign of trauma and results are pending toxicology and other studies; no foul play is suspected.

McAllister emerged in 2012, producing tracks for the likes of fellow rap upstarts Shy Glizzy, Jose Guapo, and Young Dolph; he also scored a track on Gucci Mane and Young Scooter’s Free Bricks II mixtape. As a rapper, he released two full-length, self-produced efforts: Married to the Money and Finesse Father.
