‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ gets retooled.
Drake has unveiled a new track through Octobers Very Own, the Lauryn Hill-sampling ‘Draft Day’.
Flipping the “watch out, look out” hook of the former Fugee’s 1998 single into an low-key backdrop that’s unusually boom-bappy for the Toronto miserabilist, Drake drops references to Chance The Rapper, Hunger Games and Jennifer Lawrence. He’s feeling pretty good about himself, too: “Five years later, how am I the man still?”
