The Philly troopers soldier on.
It’s been six months since The Roots released the unlikeliest album of their career – a full-length collaborative LP with Elvis Costello. Regular business will resume in May, when the band drop their 11th solo studio LP, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin.
The first drop from the album, a downbeat cut called ‘When The People Cheer’, is available to stream below. The record will be their first solo effort since 2011’s well-received Undun.
The album drops on May 13 through Def Jam. Mere minutes ago, we reported on The Roots performing tracks from Nas’ seminal Illmatic with Q-Tip.
