Max Cooper goes beyond Human.
Cooper’s ascendence has been gradual but determined: somewhere between his late 1990s arrival and this year’s Human LP, his unfussy, fairylit electronica has built up the sort of chunky fanbase that might one day propel towards a Jon Hopkins-style breakthrough. With his debut LP under his belt, he’s just announced his next step – a remix EP, fittingly titled Inhuman.
The EP features a clutch of new takes on Human cuts. Ghostly International regular Lusine contributes a remix of ‘Woven Ancestry’, and Hotflush alum Jack Dixon has a crack at ‘Automaton’. Other contributors include Rodriguez Jr, Harvey McKay and Olaf Stuut, and Cooper also supplies his own extended edit of ‘Supine’.
The EP will arrive in two parts: the first is out today, the second on May 12. Cooper recently popped his FACT Mix cherry, supplying a session featuring the likes of Objekt, Tim Hecker, Fuck Buttons and Huxley. [via Resident Advisor]
