The Russian star strikes out on her own.
This Fall, Nina Kraviz will launch her first label, трип (or ‘trip’ for non-Cyrillic spellers). True to its name, her focus will be on “the trippier, acidic side of electronic music” that has become her trademark.
Along with her own productions (which were formerly housed on REKIDS), the label will feature similarly-minded artists “that inspire her and whose music features frequently in her sets.” The label will be launched with a series of parties. First up: a party on June 14 at Barcelona’s Sala Instinto with Kraviz, Detroit techno DJ Luke Hess, Forbidden Planet’s Breaker 1 2, Ukranian producer Stanislav Tolckachev and more.
Last year, Kraviz was at the center of a mini-controversy regarding a Resident Advisor video series, leading Lauren Martin to explore the sexism in dance music culture.
