Musicians and artists come together in wake of the tragic fire.
Last month, the Glasgow School of Art’s Charles Rennie Mackintosh building was ravaged by a fire, destroying the school’s iconic library, which was recognized as one of the world’s finest examples of art nouveau. However, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have said more than 90% of the structure was viable and that they had protected up to 70% of the contents, according to the BBC.
In the wake of the fire, the first of what will probably be many fundraisers to aid the school and its affected students has been announced. On Friday, June 6, a host of Glaswegian artists (including some School of Art alumni) will perform at a fundraiser, including LuckyMe talents S-Type, Konx-om-Pax and Dema and Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos.
The full flyer is below. If you won’t be in Glasgow this weekend, there is an online fund for the Mackintosh Building.
