Out-there orchestra plays the hits.
London experimental collective Nonclassical have announced another off-the-wall event aimed at introducing a different side of classical music to less familiar gig-goers.
Next month the New London Orchestra, an ensemble that specialises in rarely heard late 19th and 20th century classical music, will deliver its interpretations of music by acts from across the spectrum, including Jamie xx, SBTRKT and Max Richter.
The orchestra will also perform music by Bedroom Community’s Valgeir Sigurðsson, Aussie psych-rockers Tame Impala, Bryce Dessner of The National, minimalist composer Michael Nyman and Nonclassical artist Gabriel Prokofiev.
The performance takes place at Hackney Downs Studios in east London on July 3, with tickets available in advance for £8. There’ll also be DJ sets from Nonclassical and a bar and food by East London Furniture.
