“Careworn techno primitivism” and more from the cassette imprint.
Blackest Ever Black’s Krokodilo Tapes offshoot has tapped Golden Pudel resident DJ Nina and Going Good label co-founder Brian Not Brian for two mixtapes.
Nina’s No Observable Effect Concentration mix is a 90-minute set billed as “cyberpunk body-horror and real-deal harbour city sorrow”, whatever that entails, while Brian Not Brian promises an hour of “spooked, careworn techno-primitivism, blues from under the floorboards, and inappropriate ambient” on his Holywell Session mix.
As one might expect, both releases from the year-old label are sans tracklist. They’ll be available in a limited number from the end of July via the Blackest Ever Black store.
Other goodies to emerge from the main stable of BEB lately include the ambitious second LP from Dalhous and a long-lost release from Mick Hobbs’ art-rock ensemble Officer!. [via JunoPlus]
