Some of this evening’s news in brief:

Blur, as promised, debuted two new songs this evening. You can stream the jagged ‘The Puritan’ and ‘Under the Westway’, a track already played live, below. It makes you think: aren’t Blur a bit bored of closing songs with ‘lalala’ by now?

A$AP Rocky’s A$AP Mob will release their first group mixtape this month. According to Rocky that is. “We got the A$AP Mob dropping, and that’ll be this month. So look out for that”, he told HipHopWired. Now, granted, it wasn’t that long ago that he was saying it would be released in May, so we’re taking it all with a pinch of salt for now. All those presidential matters must be distracting, to be fair.

Christopher Owens, the troubled frontman of San Fran rockers Girls, has left the band, stating the following: “This may come as a surprise to many & has been an issue of much thought for me. My decision was not easy to make. I am leaving Girls. My reasons at this time are personal. I need to do this in order to progress. I will continue to write & record music. More will be announced soon. I thank you all for everything. Sincerely–Christopher”. No word on whether the group – previously consisting of just Owens and bandmate JR White – will continue without him.

Finally, Rick Ross has let out audio of a new track from his upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t. It’s titled ‘Hold Me Back’, and can be streamed below the Blur.
