Messrs Tennant and Lowe to cut the ribbon on the Serbian event.
The opening ceremony of this year’s EXIT Festival will be led by British pop institution the Pet Shop Boys, who promise to bring with them a unique stage set, costume changes, lasers, choreography and a bundle of career-spanning hits taken from the duo’s ’80s pomp right up to last year’s club-friendly album Electric.
Set in the historic Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia, EXIT celebrates its 15th anniversary from July 10-13 this year. For the first time the festival’s organisers have teamed up with the three-day Sea Dance festival on Montenegro’s Jaz Beach to offer a ticket package bundling up the two events in a seven-day extravaganza.

Meanwhile, the Pet Shop Boys are preparing to premiere their piece based on the life of British codebreaker Alan Turing as part of the BBC Proms season next month.
