Aussie duo White Hex are set to drop their second album Gold Nights next week.
Harking from Melbourne, Jimi Kritzler and Tara Green’s debut album Heat appeared back in 2012, and since then they’ve been working up to Gold Nights, their most defining statement to date.
Taking pointers from Arthur Russell, New York vogue techno and the exploratory noise of British eardrum terrorists Whitehouse, White Hex don’t make it easy on the listener to put a finger on exactly what makes them so successful, but anyone with a passion for grim, cavernous pop smeared with cheap eyeliner should be in for a treat.
The record is another low-key winner for Brooklyn’s felte imprint, who put out the excellent debut album from The Tower of Light earlier this year.
Gold Nights will be released on felte (worldwide excluding Australia) & it records (Australia) on June 24, and can be pre-ordered here.
