Talaboman – the auspicious union of John Talabot and Axel Boman – will release their debut single in August.

Barcelona’s Talabot broke through in earnest with 2012’s coruscating, woozy house LP fIN, and has built a substantial following in the subsequent couple of years. Swedish producer Boman, meanwhile, has cropped up on Pampa and Hypercolour, with the latter providing a home for his unapologetically whimsical debut album, 2013’s Family Vacation.

As Resident Advisor report, the pair’s collaborative Talaboman project will put out a debut single next month, Sideral. The title track – an enjoyably scruffy piece of swung house – will be familiar to Talabot-spotters, having first aired on Talabot’s 2013 DJ-Kicks mix. The flip, meanwhile, features a remix from Beats In Space graduate Matt Karmil. Fittingly, the EP is a co-release from Talabot’s Hivern Discs and Boman’s Studio Barnhus, and follows a number of b2b DJ performances from the pair.

As the release’s accompanying notes point out, the track is dedicated to deceased Barcelona DJ Aleix ‘Sideral’ Vergés, who passed away in 2006:

“A truly fearless and idiosyncratic DJ, Sideral mixed genres wildly and brilliantly, uniting in the dance people from all kinds of musical backgrounds. At a time when few DJs dared cross musical borders, he was a real inspiration for both the Barca native Talabot and the young Swede Boman, who lived in the city during the peak of Sideral’s reign.”

Sideral will drop on August 11.
