Martin Scorsese is involved in a new film about The Ramones. 

Jeff Jampol, who co-manages the Ramones estate, has revealed in an interview with Billboard that a film about the band is in the works, with Scorsese, director of Raging Bull and more, “attached” to the project.

Whether “attached” means that Scorsese is directing the film, or simply involved, is unclear. There will also be a Ramones documentary: Jambol states that “we just secured a ton of footage, much of which has never been seen before … It came from the Ramones on the road over the years in the Seventies and a little bit in the Eighties, from a gentleman who had shot them, his name is George Seminara.”

A theatrical play about the band is also in the works.
