The first proper release from a DJ-producer with a double-take moniker.
Kane West emerged earlier this year, dropping ten minutes in that now-infamous PC Music radio show, and the DJ-producer has now shared a free EP/album entitled Western Beats.
To which definition(s) of “western” the title alludes is up for debate: over seven tracks and 30-odd minutes, Kane bounds across house, electro, and UK Funky with PC Music’s usual blend of video game samples, disembodied pop vocals, synth gymnastics, and commercialism commentary — albeit without some of their divisive rambunctiousness.
Download the album and preview it below. Last month, FACT’s Joe Moynihan ran down the label’s ten best tracks so far.
