There’s little debate that Nas’s ’94 opus Illmatic is among the greatest rap albums ever made, if not the greatest albums of any genre.

It’s always worth a peep then when a little more of the album’s history is unearthed, and today we spotted this new snap of one of the original Illmatic promo cassettes. Stones Throw’s J Rocc posted the pic to Instagram, and mentioned that it had been passed to him by “Shea who wrote for #grandroyal magazine.”
