The multi-talented artist inaugurates Chicago’s new Posture imprint.

David Ashley first caught our attention as one of the vocalists in JODY, the Chicago R&B collective that features production by The-Drum; he also co-hosted Supreme Cuts’ FACT mix.

Ashley has taken a step forward with Perfect Dark, a woozy album that sees the young talent singing, rapping and producing as he shows off a sensual, sullen side of Chicago. As always, it’s a family affair: along with his own productions, the album features tracks by Supreme Cuts and Hawaiian Gardens and vocals by fellow JODY-ite Khalee.

The album is the first release from Posture, the label founded by Ashley, Supreme Cuts, KIT, and Young Cuhlord, and it can be streamed below and downloaded for free over on the Posture website.
