The former Raider Klan member turns his C9 collective into a label.
Before he drops the follow-up to the excellent Nostalgic 64, Denzel Curry has set his sights on something more wide-ranging: a label for his C9 collective. First up from the Miami crew is an album by 21-year-old rapper SDotBraddy entitled Private Sessions.
The first single, ‘Darius’, recounts the night of Braddy’s older cousin’s arrest; his cousin is currently facing 25 year to life. The six-minute narrative plays out in epic fashion over a vicious beat by Ronny J (‘Threatz’, ‘Zone 3’) and Julian B, and features Curry himself.
Stream ‘Darius’ below. SDotBraddy’s Private Sessions and Denzel’s 32 Zel / Planet Shrooms are due out soon. For more on the latter, check out FACT TV’s interview with Curry at SXSW.
