Funk god to make his third appearance on the long-running comedy show.

Prince has been announced as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s November 1 episode, a treat that’s made twice as tasty with the news that comedy god Chris Rock will make his first SNL appearance in 18 years as the evening’s host.

Prince has been a guest on SNL twice before, in 2006 and in 1981, and this time he’ll bring his current backing band 3RDEYEGIRL, the troupe heard on his new album PLECTRUMELECTRUM. He also has a new solo record out under the name Art Official Age, and he’s been promoting those in his own special way lately, including a genius fan Q&A during which he answered just one question.
