James Blake is back with a new single, just in time for Christmas.
Thankfully he’s avoided the bells and charity themes in favor of a sound that goes back to basics, even dispensing with his own crooning voice. From what we can hear from the 2-minute snippet of ‘200 Press’ it sounds like Blake is attempting a take on classic Detroit techno with rolling synthesized bass, distorted sampled vocals and the kind of soft drum machine beats that scream 313.
‘200 Press’ will be released on Blake’s own 1-800 Dinosaur imprint on 12″, double-7″ and digitally on December 8. You can hear a chunk of the track below. [via XLR8R]
