Joey Bada$$ has been charged with assault following an altercation at Falls Music and Arts Festival near Byron Bay, Australia.

The New York MC allegedly punched a security guard in the face, leaving the man with a broken nose.

Bada$$ was about to perform at the festival on Friday when he was approached by the security guard at around 8:30pm. The rapper reportedly lashed out after being challenged by the guard.

“A 20-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by a man while working as a security guard at the festival,” said a police spokeswoman. “The man was treated for a broken nose and other facial injuries.”

Bada$$ was arrested by Byron Bay Police following his performance and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Pro Era leader was bailed following a court appearance on Saturday and is scheduled to appear at Byron Bay Local Court on March 19.
