The year’s first release from one of our labels to watch.
Raymond Abercrombie will release his album key, white on February 11 via Posture, the Chicago-based label founded by Supreme Cuts, KIT, David Ashley and Youngcuhlord.
Abercrombie describes the full-length effort as “the expression of expressionless sounds,” which works for us; key, white is a mostly-instrumental, sample-heavy exploration of hip-hop and electronic experimentalism.
Stand-alone single ‘BLACK2.0’ maybe a bit straight-forward, but not by much: vocals are looped, backmasked and warped beyond recognition — this is rap as it approaches a black hole. Stream the song below.
