Another taste of the XL signing’s first LP.
Montreal producer Kaytranada has shared the second single from his forthcoming debut album, teaming up with Chicago MC Vic Mensa, a member of Chance The Rapper’s SaveMoney crew who’s been making some interesting plays in his career so far – last year he teamed up with Disclosure to add a verse to ‘When A Fire Starts To Burn’ and then joined the UK duo on some of their US tour dates.
‘Drive Me Crazy’ pairs gritty bass with sparkly electronics in a Brainfeeder-ish mode, with Mensa singing the hook. The track is out now on iTunes and set appear on Kaytranada’s XL Recordings debut, which got upgraded from an EP to a full-length at the end of last year.
Kaytranada made his Radio 1 Residency debut earlier this month, offering an hour of music in the slot after Flying Lotus – listen back to both shows and see what Kaytranada picked as his Favourite Record and Forgotten Classic when he met FACT TV.
