Cosmic slow-disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli has announced a new album on Mule Musiq’s Endless Flight offshoot.
The aptly titled Cosmic Drag follows a taster EP of the same name released at the tail-end of 2014, and sees the veteran Italian DJ and producer blending “careless funky ’70s vibes, offish ’80s coolness and the freedom of the ’90s rave culture,” as RA reports, with influences drawn from his collection of over 65,000 records.
All four tracks from the EP reappear on the album, including the title track – hear clips over at Phonica. Cosmic Drag is out on Endless Flight on April 6.
Mule Musiq has also announced a new album from ambient producer Kuniyuki, AKA Koss. Silence is a downtempo exploration of jazz-inspired piano, hardware synths and software, and is due on April 27.
Meanwhile, let Baldelli take you to school with his epic list of 50 favourite records from the original cosmic disco scene.
