Danny Brown shared the song this morning after last’s night series premiere.
Fresh Off The Boat is a new sitcom based off New York chef Eddie Huang’s memoir of the same name. The book chronicled his upbringing as first generation Asian-American, and eventual success in opening Baohaus, a popular New York resturant that help popularize the Taiwanese food bao. Huang himself wrote a editorial on the day of the show’s premiere discussing his initial misgivings about the show’s tone and eventually coming out in support of it as a big step for the portrayal of the Asian-American experience.
Huang’s obsession with hip-hop has been known to anyone who stepped foot in his restaurant and heard the soundtrack, so an intro from Danny Brown, a friend of his, makes sense. Watch Brown’s clip from the show and listen to the full song below.
