The Middlesbrough duo follow up their debut release on 1080p with a deep trio of smudged-out tracks for the London label.

The broken-down dubbed-out house and techno of Middlesbrough duo Aaron Turner and Tom Brown, found an early fan in 1080p boss Richard MacFarlane. Releasing the duo’s first tape Tulpa back in 2013, he then went on to release the duo’s ATM collaboration with fellow 1080p artist M/M – a tape he picked as one of his personal favourites in a list for FACT last year.

Perfume Advert’s next release will see their fluid yet smudged-out grooves make the logical step to vinyl. Called Kappa Downs (a reference to the ’90s sportswear brand we hope), it will be released on March 16 by ace London label Where To Now?, responsible for a great collection of tapes and records from WANDA GROUP, Beatrice Dillon and D. Hansen among others.

Streaming in full below, the three-track 12″ sounds like the love child of Basic Channel’s dub techno and the rubbery, blissed-out house of Vancouver’s Mood Hut collective. While Tulpa was an audibly lo-fi collection of tunes, Kappa Downs is a markedly more glossy trio of tracks for the dancefloor.
