The Manchester producer shares his recent EP, which will be the second release on Bloc’s recently founded record label.
Alex Coulton is no stranger to making techno that’s highly precise, but still goes right for the gut, just listen to his FACT mix. His newest EP, Freefall, exemplifies that balance perfectly right from it’s opening title track. After percolating over a tightly wound beats for a minute, Coulton mixes in disorienting, sweeping synths that knock everything off balance.
That track is later made all the more aggressive in a remix by Function and Ed Davenport working under the moniker Function/Inland. Finally, the EP is capped off with the brisk, cleansing techno of ‘Antagonise.’
