Foo Fighters broke the news via their acceptance speech for the NME’s Best International Band award. Watch the video below, via Stereogum. The band last played Glastonbury in 1998, when the festival was headlined by Primal Scream, Blur and Pulp.
Dave Grohl and company are an uninspired substitute for Fleetwood Mac, who announced last year that they wouldn’t be at Glasto. So far, the Foos will be joined by Lionel Richie and… the Dalai Lama.
Tickets for the festival sold-out in 29 minutes last year. If you’re going, just leave your headdress at home.
