He doesn’t like any of them so far.
After announcing last week that he’s been working on his musical comeback with Kanye West, Will Smith has revealed that the extent of their collaboration already stretches to at least seven new tracks.
“I’ve recorded a lot, I don’t have anything I like yet, but I’ve probably recorded seven or eight,” he told a reporter at the premiere of his new movie Focus. “It’s not for certain, it’s just explorative.”
If all goes to plan, the Fresh Prince’s rap comeback will end a decade-long hiatus from the music business. The ‘Will 2K’ star is also being mentored by his precocious 16-year-old son Jaden, who’s put out several records of his own already.
Last week Smith said he was “in a creative ceiling”. “My son tells me I have to write out the things I don’t like. I can’t write and stop, I have to keep going and going and write them out. I’ve never worked like that before but I think I might give that a shot.”
