Doldrums sounded like they were going to war on their last single; their newest relocates the battle to the club.
Next month Doldrums, the project led by Airick Woodhead, will release their sophomore album and Sub Pop debut, The Air-Conditioned Nightmare.
It’s an album with conflict right at the heart of it, according to Woodhead, and that showed from the lead track ‘HOTFOOT’. While that was all aggression and attack, the newest single ‘Loops’ is one of the most welcoming, club-friendly things Doldrums have done yet. Don’t think for a second that means they’re going soft, since ‘Loops’ quickly begins stretching and warping until it sounds like three different songs fighting each other for dominance with Airick caught in the middle.
Listen to ‘Loops’ below and look for The Air-Conditioned Nightmare on April 2 via Sub Pop.
