The Serbian festival expands its leftfield line-up with three boundary-breaking acts from around the world.
Experimental icon Blixa Bargeld, founder of Einstürzende Neubauten and former guitarist for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, has joined the line-up of Resonate for a special vocal performance on the closing night of the festival next month.
Dutch sound artist Machinefabriek has been added as support for Icelandic noise composer Ben Frost, while Indonesian hardcore band Senyawa will play a gig in Belgrade’s cavernous Drugstore alongside Lichens and Le Revelateurs. The duo will also take part in the festival’s educational strand, showing how to build instruments from scratch by visiting local scrapyards and reusing discarded materials.
The festival has also expanded its workshop offering with a three-day Pure Data course led by Serbian sound artist Svetlana Maraš, as well as one-day workshops from analogue maestro Wouter Van Veldhoven and instrument maker Yuri Landman.
Resonate takes place from April 13-18 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia. Early bird tickets for the Live programme are still available at €79 (full price €119) from the festival’s website. Combined tickets for both Resonate Live and Conference, which combines topics at the intersection of technology, art and culture, are also available for €249.
