Kendrick Lamar’s new album To Pimp A Butterfly is already breaking records.
According to Spotify, the album was streamed 9.6 million times from start to finish on Monday. That’s a new record for the most streams in a single day worldwide by a new release.
The data was calculated from 12:01am to 11:59pm on Monday, with the Spotify service available in 58 global markets. The site boasts 60 million active users and more than 15 million paying subscribers.
The record had previously been held by Drake’s surprise “mixtape” If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which racked up 6.8 million listens in a single day.
