A final album and final concert for the metal legends.

Last year, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath announced plans to record their final album ever, following up their first album since 1995, 2013’s #1 album 13.

The band will play its final show on November 22, headlining the second day of Ozzfest at Japan’s Makuhari Messe venue. Currently, the Sabbath line-up includes Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, but not drummer Bill Ward, who Osbourne hopes will join for the final tour.

The album sessions reportedly started this year, with Rick Rubin returning to the producer’s chair. “Obviously a lot of it is coming down to Tony’s health, he’s obviously got his cancer treatment,” Osbourne explained last year. “I don’t know if we’ll be writing in England or LA, but I’ll fly to the fucking moon for it if I have to!”

Obviously, Black Sabbath ranked pretty high in FACT’s list of the 100 Best Albums of the 1970s. [via Billboard]
