The DC rapper was in Austin for SXSW.

Austin’s KXAN reports that Yung Gleesh (real name Asa Asuncion) has been charged with sexual assault of a woman in Austin. Gleesh was scheduled to perform in Dallas tonight, but flew back to Washington, DC instead.

Austin Police met the victim at St. David’s Hospital on the morning of Friday, March 20. The woman said that she and a friend went out and ended up at another friend’s house in Austin, becoming intoxicated before passing out at 2:30am. According to the victim’s friend, Gleesh and his friends arrived an hour later.

The victim’s friend says that she woke up around 6am and found Gleesh on top of the victim; both were “mostly unclothed.” She pulled the rapper off her friend, engaging in a verbal altercation before the victim was taken to the hospital. By the time police arrived, Gleesh had left the home; he has not yet been arrested. [via Fader]

Update: Gleesh was arrested by the Austin Police Department on Tuesday; he has since posted bail and is no longer in custody. [via KXAN]
