The Japanese producer flips the classic ‘Yeah! Woo!” sample into a dazzlingly trippy techno burner.
Next month the always charismatic label 1080p will put out Holding The Cards, a new release from Keita Sano. Though he began his career in jazz music, Sano’s massive album finds him putting his own infectious, psychedelic take on techno and house for over 70 minutes. One of the best examples of that is ‘Onion Slice’, which finds Sano taking the iconic “Yeah! Woo!” sample best remembered from Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock’s ‘It Takes Two‘ and breaks it apart in constantly surprising ways and entertaining ways.
Listen to it below and grab Holding The Cards on cassette on May 5 through 1080p.
