Mike Paradinas joined Huw Stephens in the Radio 1 hotseat.
Seminal British electronic imprint Planet Mu is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Originally launched as an imprint on Virgin back in 1995, label head Mike Paradinas took the label independent in 1998 and it has remained that way ever since. Over the years, Paradinas’ imprint has delivered prized works from artists as varied as Shitmat, Remarc, Machinedrum, Kuedo and DJ Nate.
Huw Stephens invited Paradinas to join his BBC Radio 1 show last night for a special 20th anniversary broadcast. The Planet Mu boss played a selection of tracks from the label’s early days right through to the present. His selections included tracks from footwork innovators Jlin and RP Boo, grime from Mr. Mitch and efforts from the label’s formative years courtesy of Venetian Snares and Luke Vibert.
