Somehow it’s nearly June and the festival season is upon us.
We’re just over two weeks away from this year’s Field Day, but more exciting announcements and additions are still being made to this year’s line-up.
The Victoria Park festival has just announced a brand new stage, The Jägerhaus – no prizes for guessing what’s on tap – spotlighting fresh talent like electro-pop songwriter Boxed In, London squall-rockers Cheatahs, Irish indie duo All Tvvins and the very good, not very classifiable Zun Zun Egui.
Meanwhile PC Music star QT joins the Field Day line-up on Saturday, June 6, and Peter Bibby of Tame Impala and Pond joins Field Day Sunday, June 7.
A stack of pre-parties and after-parties have also been announced. Warming up for the weekend, the aforementioned Peter Bibby, The Vryll Society and Leopold and His Fiction will play the Shacklewell Arms, POW! appear at the Lock Tavern and the mighty Fucked Up are at the Shacklewell Arms.
Taking the festivities through until morning, the official Bugged Out! after-party is at Oval Space with John Talabot (pictured), Leon Vynehall, Shanti Celeste and Daniel Avery playing back-to-back with Volte-Face. There’s also Awesome Tapes from Africa at the Adam and Eve and some special secret guests playing the Shacklewell Arms on June 6.
Additionally, Field Day has launched a competition offering a pair of tickets to the National Gallery’s Soundscapes exhibition and a pair of VIP tickets to the whole Field Day weekend. There’s still time to snap up a ticket from the Field Day website.
