The latest dispatch on patten’s Kaleidoscope label introduces something new for the imprint: a series of split EPs.

“Unlike the traditional ‘split’ format, there is no overt curatorial connection intended between the separate sides”, patten told RA. “Any connections are emergent through chance alone.” The first EP comes from Vanilla Hammer (titled, excellently, Diss Patches) and Aldous RH, and we’re premiering the video for Hammer’s ‘Photo ID’. It’s wonky, it’s gloopy, it doesn’t give too much away and its video is glitched beyond recognition. No wonder patten fell for it.
