The Prescription: Word, Sound & Power boxset is due later this year.

Rush Hour’s next big retrospective will be a boxset centred around US house producer Ron Trent’s Prescription label, RA reports.

Titled Prescription: Word, Sound & Power, the collection will be released towards the end of this year, beginning with the label’s first release in 1993.

“As time went on the label changed, the sound changed,” said Trent. “Sometimes the material that we picked up from other people changed as well. So we are aiming to secure the essence of Prescription, what it used to be and what it still is.”

According to RA, the full tracklist is yet to be announced, but the boxset will include ‘The Answer’ (recorded as World, Sky & Universes), the unreleased track ‘Energy’, and an Anthony Nicolson collaboration called ‘Life 4 Living’ produced under the USG name.

Prescription was originally founded in 1993 by Trent together with Chez Damier, and became one of the most impotant deep house outlets of the 90s. The pair parted ways in 1996, leaving Trent to run the label himself – the label’s last release was a CD compilation in 2011.

This is just the latest in a long line of retrospective projects from Rush Hour – recent years have seen Virgo Four, Soichi Terada and the Burrell Brothers receive thorough reissues from the Amsterdam label. You can find out more about the retrospective in the video trailer below.
