The band pull out following Dave Grohl’s injury.

Though Foo Fighters were set to headline Glastonbury, this year it looks like they have cancelled following frontman Dave Grohl’s recent injury. Grohl broke his leg at a show in Sweden last week and though he managed to finish the set (as you can see above) he’s understandably going to need to take some time off.

He has now explained the decision in a lengthy open letter to fans on the Foo Fighters website, in addition to sharing some pretty gnarly x-rays of the injury.

Iggy Pop, who was scheduled to support the band at Wembley next week, sent his well wishes, telling fans: “Firstly – get well, Dave, it was hell of a fall! Those decisions are never easy. This also means, folks, that you’ll have to wait a week longer to see Iggy on stage. His first solo performance will now be Down The Rabbit Hole Festival in Holland on June 27.”

No word on who will replace them, but we’re hoping it’s either Fleetwood Mac or a second Kanye set.

Update: UK bookies William Hill have Florence + The Machine as evens to replace them, with The Stone Roses at 4/1 and Blur at 8/1. Paddy Power, on the other had, have Blur as favourites.
