The station stalwart is leaving after eight years.
Alexander Nut has announced his departure from Rinse FM. The DJ has held down his eclectic weekend slot since the station’s pirate days, bringing listeners a mix of globally sourced sounds steeped in hip-hop, soul, funk, house, afrobeat and jazz.
“After 8 incredible years on Rinse Fm i have decided to call it a day,” he wrote on Facebook, adding: “This is by no means the end of my broadcast journey. Radio is something i am passionate about and love dearly, and after a short break and some time to decide on my next move i will be back on the airwaves.”
The likes of Mark Pritchard, Scratcha DVA, Dez Andres and his Eglo Records affiliates Floating Points and Fatima have been frequent guests on the show, and in 2009 he contributed Rinse:08 to the station’s mix CD series.

Ladies and gents, attention please. After 8 incredible years on Rinse Fm i have decided to call it a day. I would like to thank all the listeners, management and fellow Dj’s i have had the pleasure to work with over the years. It’s been an amazing journey and i’ve enjoyed every second of it. Huge amounts of love and respect to Geeneus, Sarah Soujah and Charles H for giving me the opportunity. I am truly grateful. Thanks to all the listeners new and old, you guys made it all worth while. I love ya! This is by no means the end of my broadcast journey. Radio is something i am passionate about and love dearly, and after a short break and some time to decide on my next move i will be back on the airwaves sharing the music i love with people who feel the same. The rest of my musical and artistic endeavors will continue on, i look forward to a busy summer of Dj’ing and doing shows.
Finally a massive shout out to all the people who have been on my show as guests, its been brilliant watching the scene grow from its humble beginnings when we started out way back in 2006.
