Welcome to FACT’s weekly video round-up.
As we note at the end of every year, music videos have never been better. But too often, music videos — along with documentaries, live sets and interview clips — get lost in the shuffle of news and new music.
With that in mind, FACT is doing what it does for mixes, mixtapes, vinyl and more: rounding up the internet’s best videos on a weekly basis. And to remove our bias, we won’t be including our own content — you’ll have to stay tuned to FACT TV for all your Against The Clock, FACT Freestyles and Confessions needs.

Mogwai
‘Helicon 1’
Dir: Craig Murray
As part of their 20th anniversary celebration, Mogwai have revisited 1997 single ‘Helicon 1’ with a new video made entirely from 35mm stills. Director Craig Murray shot on an iPhone and a Go-Pro and then processed each frame physically, making the video feel like an Instagram flipbook.
Tinashe
‘Cold Sweat’
Dir: Stephen Garnett
Rather than opting for interstellar travel or seaside set pieces, Tinashe goes small in ‘Cold Sweat’, restraining her sexuality as her close-ups are warped by video effects.

E-40
‘Choices (Yup)’
Dir: Ben Griffin
E-40 fires up his PC and a wall of monitors in the video for his latest Bay Area anthem, enlisting literally everybody in hip-hop as he runs down his yes/no checklist. While the concept lets everyone contribute remotely, Snoop Dogg actually stops by — what a pro.

Jean-Michel Jarre & M83
‘Glory’
Dir: Lisa Paclet
‘Glory’ sounds like synth-laced soundtrack fare; appropriately, its video features various physical challenges — archery, dance’o’war, whatever that guy is doing with those monitors — that are somewhere between The Hunger Games and Black Mirror.

Overdoz
‘Last Kiss’
Dir: CALMATIC
The West Coast collective knows how to party in the video for the funkified ‘Last Kiss’. This one’s a tribute to casting, set design and props: Pharrell’s hat, their own version of O.E. and a box of “Hood Loops” are beamed in for their alternate universe G-Funk video — Soul Train included.

BEAK
‘The Meader’
Dir: James Hankins
After getting nostalgic in their last video, BEAK aim for horror in the video for ‘The Meader’, a first-person nightmare that gets stranger as it builds towards an unsettling conclusion.
Lucki Eck$
‘Lowlife’
Dir: Jake Osmun
Chicago upstart Lucki Eck$ takes it to the street in his scumbag anthem ‘Lowlife’, a track that gives a Chicago spin to chopped-and-screwed hip-hop. A simple concept that gives Lucki’s X a sense of place.

Father
‘Who’s Gonna Get Fucked First’
Dir: Ryan Staake
The title track to Father’s raunchy Who’s Gonna Get Fucked First gets an appropriate video treatment: extreme closeups of mouths, body parts and lines of coke combine for a particularly arty take on the homemade sex tape.

MYTH
‘Thunderdome (TLC No Scrubs Bootleg)’
Dir: The Levels Are Very High
Rabit associate MYTH bootlets ‘No Scrubs’ and The Levels Are Very High follows his lead on the video, warping the original’s video with a similarly overloaded aesthetic and art by bassscapes.
