“You are now watching the greatest living rock star on the planet.”
Kanye had a lot of critics in the run up to Glastonbury, but it’s fair to say he owned the Pyramid Stage last night.
Positioned underneath a lighting rig that gave the first half of the show the intimacy of a small club gig, he ran through a career-spanning set that even saw him board a cherry picker for ‘Touch The Sky’ and cover Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
Thought he didn’t get booed off stage like Ladbrokes thought he would, he did have to contend with a stage invader at the start of ‘Black Skinhead’. There was no Paul McCartney guest appearance either, but we’ll take Justin Vernon over an ex-Beatle any day.
