Puff and the Family return with a funked-up new single.
Puff Daddy brought the Bad Boy family back together at the BET Awards last night, calling upon Lil’ Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, 112, The LOX and more for a special reunion performance. Pharrell also joined in on the action, performing an unheard single alongside the Bad Boy boss (who fell into a hole on the stage mid-performance).
A studio version of that single has emerged today, credited to Puff Daddy and the Family. ‘Finna Get Loose’ is a jittery, uptempo number that recalls the funky shuffle of previous Diddy/Neptunes collaborations like ‘D.I.D.D.Y.’ and ‘Pass The Covoursier’ as the pair trade bars over laser beam bass synths and skittering percussion.
Puff’s most recent album, 2010’s Last Train to Paris, was released under the name Diddy. The enduring mogul switched back to his original moniker last year for two new singles (‘Big Homie’ and ‘I Want the Love’) which are taken from his upcoming album, reportedly titled MMM.
