The iconic video game score is out this week as a deluxe 4LP box set.
Gustavo Santaolalla’s soundtrack to Naughty Dog’s 2013 PS3 game The Last of Us is getting a vinyl release via Mondo.
Mondo’s box set comes housed in a “heavy duty slip case” featuring original artwork from Olly Moss and Jay Shaw. As well as Santaolalla’s score, the set features every audio cue from the game and the 2014 DLC Left Behind.
News of the 4LP box set – the soundtrack specialist’s first foray into video games – first surfaced with a poster late last year, but we now know the set will be available on July 22 via the Mondo website priced at a whopping $75 – keep an eye on the company’s Twitter for updates as to when it goes on sale.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by zombie-like creatures spawned by a brain-controlling fungus, The Last of Us was widely hailed as one of the best games of the last generation of consoles. The soundtrack also took second place in FACT’s list of the 100 greatest video game soundtracks.
