A new film about Sonic Youth’s guitar hero Lee Ranaldo is due for release this December.

Directed by Arnaud Maguet (who’s previously made films about DIY pop genius R. Stevie Moore and QOTSA multi-instrumentalist Alain Johannes) and produced by the French group Hifiklub, In Doubt, Shadow Him! is pitched as a “drift” rather than a movie, and features contributions from DNA’s Ikue Mori, guitarist Alan Licht, composer Phill Niblock, Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner, poet John Giorno, Velvet Monkeys’ Don Fleming and more.

Shot in New York, the film includes an original soundtrack recorded by Ranaldo and Hifiklub at the Sonic Youth studio. Check out the trailer below. [via The Wire]
