Prepare for battle.

Pioneer DJ has offered the first glimpse of a new mixer that a voiceover compares to a steroid-enhanced version of Roland’s TR-909 drum machine.

The video above is brief, but clearly shows faders and LED buttons that suggest some kind of sample-triggering capability. The title of the video is “Prepare for Battle”, which suggests it’s a scratch mixer. Last week however Pioneer teased performance updates to its Rekordbox software, which means the new product could equally be a controller of some kind.

According to the video, Pioneer DJ will offer more information on August 6.
