The Specialist is a new short film series by The Vinyl Factory that profiles record collectors through one specific aspect of their collection.

Following Andrew Weatherall’s rockabilly epsiode, The Vinyl Factory visited Ninja Tune beat maker DJ Food to rifle through his unparalleled collection of flexi discs – the disposable sound sheets that capture some of the strangest recordings ever committed to disc. Birdsong and softcore porn both feature, as does a recording of Jonathan King commenting on the gas crisis.
