London paid tribute to Chicago and Detroit at Found’s 51st State Festival.
Although 51st State wasn’t just a house and techno festival – The Heatwave and Congo Natty represented for UK reggae and dancehall, while garage royalty like Grant Nelson, Matt Jam Lamont and Scott Garcia took over the Back to 95 stage – the big dogs of the US were the main attraction, with Dennis Ferrer, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Derrick Carter and recent FACT mixers Masters at Work piled onto the main stage.
Check Pawel Ptak’s photos of the festival below, and Joe Muggs’ interview with Derrick Carter, conducted just before the festival.
